Chatham Audio designs and installs all kinds of home theater/surround sound systems – from basic living room surround sound systems to full-blown, dedicated home theaters. We’ll organize the project from start to finish, working with any other contractors that may be needed to make your AV dreams come true. These complicated and sophisticated systems are simplified for you with the implementation of our custom-programmed remotes and control systems. Got an existing system that’s just too difficult to use? We can evaluate what you’ve got and employ the same type of control to make your system make sense and be simple and enjoyable to use.
Whole house audio systems are great... forget having to turn up your main audio system all the way up to hear it in other areas of your house. Adding speakers and controls throughout the house allows you to enjoy music wherever and whenever you’d like, independent of what is going on in other rooms/areas. You can enjoy NPR in the kitchen in the morning while your spouse is in the shower rocking out to their favorite artist. Add speakers outside on the deck, at the pool, or in the garage to make the great outdoors even better. Speakers and subwoofers can be built into walls, ceilings, and cabinets integrating well with any decor. Whole house video works essentially the same way, allowing you to share video sources throughout the house without buying separate components for every room… it just makes sense.
Lighting control systems automate lights in your home or at your business allowing you to create scenes and moods with lighting, all while saving you money on your energy bill. Programmable systems allow you to control lighting and temperature based on events, time of day, or motion/occupancy. Dimming lights alone saves great amounts of electricity and lengthens bulb life. Dimming a lamp 10%, which is barely noticeable to the human eye, will create 10% in energy savings. Not only are these systems sexy, but they can easily pay for themselves over time. Motorized shades and blinds can let light and heat in during the day and keep it in at night. These units can also can be automated to help save energy even when you’re not there.
Structured Wiring is just a term for your home or business’ low-voltage infrastructure. This includes network, telephone, cable, and satellite wiring. This wiring is critical for current and future technologies. Of course there are some good, new wireless technologies out there, but there’s no substitute for a good ol' hard-wired connection. Hard-wiring is “faster”, far more reliable, and more times than not, it’s less expensive. All of this wiring should be run from the different locations (where the services are needed) in your home or business to a central location (usually a distribution panel.) At this location you can task and re-task wiring as needed making life a whole lot easier.
